It's hard to believe that this is the work of a 20 year old man. Feldman's composing, arrangements and playing are mature and confident. This was one of three Tempo sessions which Victor Feldman made just before leaving London for New York in the autumn of 1955. Victor, regarded by many of his fellow musicians as the most brilliant talent ever to come out of British jazz, was in complete charge of the music to be played, the selection of musicians for the date, and everything else which can be put under the heading of artistic considerations. Arthur Lilley, the most sympathetic and clear-eared sound technician in the country for the recording of jazz groups, officiated in the control box.
Also available by Victor Feldman JASCD622, JASCD625.
