Freddie King (or Freddy as he was known in his early years for these recordings) was and still is a true icon of the blues, even though he is perhaps considered the least popular of the 'Three Kings of the Blues' - B.B, Albert and Freddie. It's hard to analyse even this long after his death which one of them truly is the most influential, although with B.B King still being alive and playing perhaps it falls to him.

This collection presents both sides of all his 45 releases recorded between 1960 and 1962 (except the B side to 'Do The President Twist' which was just a Lula Reed track which doesn't include Freddy).

Freddie was a major influence on Eric Clapton, Peter Green and many other guitarists who emerged during the blues boom.

Features his original hits 'Hide Away', 'I'm Tore Down', 'San Ho Zay' and of course 'Have You Ever Loved a Woman'.

Fully detailed liner notes.
