• The Deep River Boys were one of the most prolific Gospel & R&B vocal groups of the 1950’s with recording contacts in the USA, UK, Norway and Sweden spread across more than a dozen different labels.
• Led throughout by Harry Douglas the group was formed in 1936 and was led by him for 50 years.
• This set focuses on their most successful period as an R&B group between 1952 and 1962. It includes recordings from both sides of the Atlantic (and Baltic Sea) most of which are difficult to find and have not been re-issued until now and features recordings from Beacon, RCA, HMV (and its Scandinavian subsidiaries), Top Rank, Gallant and Wand labels plus a live performance from the BBC’s Six-Five Special.
