Ted HEATH & HIS MUSIC – You’ve Gone To My Head

£8.99 inc. VAT

JASMCD2575

By 1948, after a number of years of hard work and steady progression, Ted Heath And His Music were well established as England's number one swing band. Heath, then aged 43, had first performed in public while only seven, playing trombone for the Wandsworth Brass Band, but circumstances forced him to spend some time busking for a living before joining Jack Hylton in 1929. He later worked with Sidney Lipton, Ambrose and Geraldo prior to forming his own band in 1943, initially just for broadcast and recording purposes. A long term recording contract, radio work and successful live engagements followed, all of which enabled Ted Heath to employ a regular personnel of top class musicians and so establish his band on a permanent basis. Also available JASMCD2567.
