Ron Holden – Love You So

• RON HOLDEN is invariably categorised as a “One Hit Wonder” for the hypnotic ‘Love You So’, a major crossover Pop/R&B success in 1960.
• However, his follow-up, ‘Gee, But I’m Lonesome’, also dented the Cash Box Top 100 later the same year and he went on to enjoy significant regional success with follow-ups.
• Moreover, its powerful B-side, ‘My Babe’, has long enjoyed cult popularity among specialist R&R collectors.
• This compilation sweeps up just about everything that Holden cut between 1959-62 and by way of bonus tracks includes a couple of sides by his earlier group, The Playboys, on which he is reputed to have contributed.
• Also included are both sides of a single by “Rosie & Ron”, which is erroneously included on Ron Holden discographies; it isn’t actually him singing on this disc, but is included herein to assuage completists.
