This CD compilation of original Arthur Smith instrumental recordings shows the versatility of the man as both an accomplished and innovative guitarist. Clearly, his own style would have been influenced by many sources - in many parts of North America, unlike Britain, guitarists of differing skills were relatively common - but perhaps the influence of the Twentieth Century’s most original jazz guitarist, Django Reinhardt, is discernible on titles like "Stompin’ At The Savoy". Whatever, Arthur Smith has earned himself a unique place in Country music.
