Theodore BIKEL – Sings a Collection of Jewish Folk Songs

Theodore Bikel has had a varied and prolific career in film, stage and arts and is thought of as one of the world's best-known folk singers and co-founder of The Newport Folk Festival.

Theodore recorded over twenty albums and here we focus on 1958's, 'Theodore Bikel Sings Jewish Folk Songs' and '…Sings More Jewish Folk Songs'.

Most of the material on this wonderful CD is of commonly known folk songs, but a couple however are songs that he remembers from his childhood and perhaps have not been heard outside his family circle.

To define versatility is to capture the essence of Theodore Bikel. For in his own words; 'He is not a specialist but a general practitioner in the world of the arts'.
