Volume One of Hank Williams' Greatest Hits (on
JASMINE JASMCD 3535) left him at the beginning of
March 1949, an established Country star and acknowledged songwriter, although
his biggest hit then just about to break, "Lovesick Blues", was an updating of a
show tune from 1922. Also recorded at the two sessions on 1st / 2nd March which
produced the hits "Mind Your Own Business" and "You're Gonna Change" was "Jesus
Remembered Me", a religious duet with wife Audrey, and the sad "May You Never Be
Alone" with its unusual mandolin solo by Clyde Baum.
Also available by Hank Williams JASMCD3575.
