Chet Baker – The String Sessions

• Chet Baker was one of the jazz greats. A trumpeter with a cool and mellow style. He made the unusual decision for a jazz musician to make albums with string sections recording several albums in this style during his almost 40-year career.
• This set features the first two full albums, Chet Baker and Strings (1954) and 50 Italian Strings (1959) plus a pair of bonus tracks.
• Both albums have been meticulously restored with many imperfections inherent in early tape recordings rectified. The Italian album receives a much-needed remix to put Chet's singing and playing front and centre for the first time instead of being relegated to one side in the original mix.
