He carved out parallel careers as an R&R singer/songwriter, a teen idol, an interpreter/updater of The Great American Songbook, a pianist, a bandleader, and a serious actor.

This compilation is assembled from EPs issued in the US, the UK and France between 1958-62, and features an eclectic selection of hits, misses, flipsides, and album tracks.
